The participants ventured outside the classroom on the second day of the workshop. The first sighting once the sky opened up post the rain was of Indian Oriole and Ashy Drongo. As the group continued heard the call from Tickell’s blue flycatcher. Soon the group spotted pair of black-naped orioles and a Greater Coucal. The group also spotted Indian Paradise flycatcher, Small minivets, and Cinereous Tits. Overall the group spotted 23 species of birds and left many first-timers mesmerized!

The session also included learning about sustainability from beaks & bills and its application to current businesses. Having survived 60+ million years, we can surely take a lesson or two from the birds on sustainability.?

The session ended with a pyramid showing the natural progression of birding as a hobby and instructions to maximize activity on a birding walk.

Thanks Shreyas Krishna Seethapathy and Yogesh Marathe and Team Drishti for the opportunity. It was a lovely experience showing people around and seeing them put all the learnings of the classroom session to immediate use. As usual, the Tea and Coffee by the MDC catering was brilliant.
