It is common knowledge that drinking water is essential for humans to survive. But just because its common knowledge, doesn't mean we do it as much as we are supposed to. The average american drinks 20oz of water a day which is less than a third of the average recommended amount. It is recommended that you drink at least 64oz of water every day.
Here are just SOME of the reasons why staying hydrated is important for your body's function.
1. Your body uses water to transport essential nutrients around the body.
2. Water helps to keep your body from overheating via sweating.
3. It is fuel for you body to help you think clearly and stay alert.
4. Water helps your skin to look healthy and glow.
5. Drinking water and staying hydrated can help with weight loss. Often when we feel hungry, we are actually thirsty/getting dehydrated.
6. Being fully hydrated will boost your performance in sports.

8 年Water is the body's most important nutrient. It's literally essential to life. Without it,we would survive maybe two to three days. Water should make up about 60-percent of your body weight. Because we lose so much of it through basic body functions-even more through exercise-it's important to replenish the supply by drinking more water. You can also exercise more effectively and at higher levels when you're getting more water.
