Drill Site Mud Plant
Using XRF and PSA measurements for on-site reconditioning effectively eliminates the need for sending drilling fluid back for reconditioning or changeout. Will also reduce equipment failure resulting from high quartz content.
To extend the life of the drilling fluid on site almost indefinitely, MudLabs along with our Mobile drilling fluid laboratory is introducing XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence ) for on site measurements along with PSA (Particle Size Analysis). Each takes less than five minutes to run. This will allow the operator to maintain on site the health of the drilling fluid.
XRF measurements will indicate when there is a high LGS along with Quartz and associated rock content. With high quartz content there will be a probability that there may/will be a downhole tool or surface equipment failure. Down time can be reduce with the use of XRF and PSA to maintain the drilling fluid properties. See examples below of measurements now available. Images below linked to full size documents.
