PPIP - Putting Processes In Place

Working in a software industry for 10 years now. I have been in various position. Bringing up the whole software architecture and then seeing it delivering world class data. I believe DRIFT and PPIP go hand in hand since DRIFT cannot happen unless PPIP is achieved. 

When I started building up the software architecture of the company the demand was “I Want To Change the World and I Want It Done Yesterday” now that is a logical demand for any growing organization but when you pace the development in that purview PPIP goes for a toss and so will be the plan for DRIFT.

This is exactly what happened we were able to achieve everything we wanted but on a shaky architecture now the need was for PPIP we started achieving by following points below:

1. Establishing how things need to be done.
2. Documenting decisions with established processes.
3. Training all co-workers to ensure they understand how the company operates.
4. Empower co-workers to do their daily activity using the documented processes.
5. Make system people agnostic.

Once Process in place everything started following in place but you cannot undo what is already done so there was a need to develop system which can do same jobs but in better way and as per process.

So that we achieve DRIFT with PPIP.

Learning has been huge in this process because we got to know what could have been done better even when Process was not in Place. We missed out on opportunity which could be capitalized as learning and innovation go hand in hand. The humbleness of success is to learn from the past and the arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow. 

So hope to see further changes to the system and take the right steps and grab every opportunity to make a perfect world hoping to achieve DRIFT by PPIP.
