Will Drewery Live Highlights
In this week’s Live event, Wednesday’s wisdom was served in healthy portions by a master of supply chain management, Will Drewery !??
As former VP of Industry Marketing and Automative Sales at Bright Machines , former VP of Supply Chain at Astra , and having acquired years of experience as Head of Global Supply Management at Tesla , Will gave us the inside scoop on everything #supplychain, #operations, #leadership, and #tech.
Here are some highlights:
??What is supply chain management? — Will explained that supply chain encompasses all the functions involved in the purchasing, movement, and storage of goods until they’re manufactured to be delivered to a customer. It’s a focus that’s allowed him to work on a wide range of fascinating and meaningful projects that have worked as economic drivers across the world.
??Lunch and learn — While acknowledging that diving into technical topics can be daunting, Will recommended prioritizing information by asking, “what do I really need to know to make a good decision?”. He also had another simple approach — “At Tesla, I never ate lunch alone. People love to talk about what they know and listening is a surefire way to learn”. ??

To stay on top, you need to stay informed, welcome scary conversations head-on, and always have a backup plan.??
??Don’t forsake your time in the trenches — Managing the fast-paced grind of startup life can sometimes leave you feeling worn out or frustrated, but Will insists that getting through the hard times is time well spent, providing you with skills and valuable lessons that are vital to improving your game.
