Dressing for success

Dressing for success

I am son of a Banker. In most of the photographs of my father, I have seen him wearing business suits and tie. (Dressed formally for his meetings).

I can attribute my habit of wearing business suits for meetings to how I saw my dad in my growing up years. I also was fortunate that I was trained that way by the organisations that I worked with. In the last two years of starting my own business I have further understood the importance of dressing for success in business.

There is a direct correlation in between first impression on your prospect and your clothing. When you are well dressed and groomed, the customer unconsciously assumes that you come from a good company.

The way we get ready for the business meeting either moves us towards the sale or moves us away. In Selling its one of the most important influencer.

hey Akshay, I agree but not entirely ...a question...is good dressing only considered via a suit and tie? My take is that yes dressing helps in creating 1st impressions, but the more impactful aspect is the quality of the immediate interaction and your genuine representation of your proposition. Of course, you need to be dressed smart but not necessarily suit and tie! I have seen many suited up people who look the part but that's about it.?
