Starting from a gedankenexperiment, we discovered a material you can buy at hardware stores that traps light drones by exploiting their motors and the toroidal vortices their propellers generate and require for flight. The DRESH technique applies that material to bind, catch, and trap light drones. It exploits a viscous cycle of air inhalation needed to generate enough lift and the design weakness of high velocity / low torque motors. We presented our results at @SPIE D + S 2018.
