Dreams via Dreams

I was 17 and wrote around 6 short stories, published some at booksie.com .

I got appreciation from some renowned writers and a writer who endorsed my short story and sold one of his copies to Marvel.

Moving ahead in the same year, I started a sci-fi book ' We Saved The Earth '. Which turned out to be a long-length book having parts and editions, the book was never completed as I explored my desktop and writing skills together in the same year but after I entered my 12th boards everything took a back seat. I was in 24 hours supervision of my family or teachers.

The whole of my school life was packed up with underconfidence and getting intimidated by teachers and high-attitude guys who think they are cool. The same guys are asking me for a job referral today from nowhere, time changes. I was so in a judging environment which made me ashamed of being creative, I was ashamed and underconfident. Every time anybody searches my name on a browser, a writer's profile gets highlighted, which dropped me in a dilemma of questions like " You don't have time for studying, but you have time for writing a book? " and more and more.

My school never believed that I am going to be something. The majority of teachers, students with attitude, and even the principal believed that I am not studying at all and if this continues I am going to be in the same city and doing some shitty job for the rest of my life. I was exploring writings and literature, but my friends believed I was not at all an English background guy as we belong to Tier 3 city, competing for highlights and publishing on an American-based platform was not my cup of tea they believed.

The result was out of 12th, I scored 98/100 in English, throwing a sweet cupcake on critics. COVID era came and I have to take admitted to a college. I researched universities for Literature and convinced myself to move to Norway. Norway became my dream country with high-quality education and a starter for my Literature life.

I didn't read that many novels or fiction in my life, but encyclopedias, research papers, and especially science fiction books were in my hands all the time. I decided to fly to Norway.

Born and bought up in a family which fulfilled all our dreams and provided all the facilities that made me happier and happier every day of my life, it was too difficult to ask my parents about sending me abroad out of their pocket, we are middle-class. I didn't ask my parents on stronger bases to send me abroad, I even tried to pick the topic sometimes but that was too difficult to happen.

Me and my friend, we both were stuck in life, I wanted to go abroad and my friend wanted to make money after a degree somehow. We were stuck and finally, we decided to stay together for our college life and choose a college. We took admission together. What really happened after a while was really unexpected. I took admitted to a college based in Punjab because my cousin was taking admission to it, family pressure!!

My friend switched the stream from CSE to Mechanical and went to a college in Jaipur. We both got apart and started our new journey.

Btech CSE hons degree I started pursuing. I started my new journey by vanishing the past. I deleted all my writings and you can still search Ishank Booksie on Google, you can find my titles easily but all texts are deleted.

I started working on learning new things and explored every field I had curiosity in. I studied books and courses in Law, Economics, Design, Management, and more. Finally got hooked on my degree and in my first year of university I made my first income. Designed 3D projects for some of my classmates and charged them a small amount per design, which lead to the establishment of Designwithisks .

Soon, DesignWithIsks will be rebranded to DWIstudios :)

A writer in nourishing a few years back gave up writing and choose a totally different field as a degree.

While in college, I did multiple internships in Design, Growth, and Product. Different domains again.

The main reason for exploring multiple genres and fields was to get a brief idea about how any company works. How the majority of things operate in a company and how anyone can start and scale a product from user research to design the prototype and then develop it to grow it to the user base.

A Dream of being a writer to developing products, a drastic change but one thing was common - I wanted to impact the larger audience. Before it was an American platform where I was writing books available for free to read and now it is Udemy, again an international platform that gave me access to a wider audience.

Dreams usually change based on life situations and scenarios. Dreams with open eyes made me sleep with satisfaction.
