Dreams - make them REAL!

I have worked in and around the music industry since I was a young teen playing my #Zemaitis guitar, and first auditioning for a major record label back in the mid 70s, when a top A&R exec travelled down to the Medway Towns in Kent to watch my band, after hearing a demo I had sent in.

Since then I have been a hard working composer and songwriter who has never given up on the dream that one day, I will pen that global hit that will allow me to buy and live in a place like the one in the picture at the top of this page. (And of course, build a bigger and better studio!)

I have been lucky enough on my journey, to work with some great artists and labels, including co-writing tracks with Suzi Quatro and producing three tracks on her album The Girl From Detroit City. (She even wrote some lovely things about me in the sleeve notes!)

Sure, I have made some money from music over the years and have even spent time as an A&R myself, together with being a national radio 'plugger' for a few years, regularly visiting producers and presenters at Radio 1, Radio 2, Capital Radio and Radio Luxembourg's then London-based office.

I have never however, lost my appetite for that global hit and will continue to push for it until they carry me away in that box!

I remain as busy today as ever before, constantly writing and co-writing music both for sync opportunities (film, TV, ads etc.) and in the hope that at least one of my songs finds its way to one of the world's leading superstars who then makes it a hit! Admittedly, there isn't the money that there once was a single hit song, but it's fulfilling the DREAM that matters most to me at this stage in my career.

Never in over fifty years, have I stopped believing that I have some great songs in my ever-growing catalogue and the long list of global music publishers that have signed some of my music, backs that up.

I suffer from bouts of #depression as do so many other creative people, but my music gets me through it. I can honestly say, that music has saved my life on a number of occasions.

So my message to you today is simple.... NEVER give up on your dreams, no matter how long the road and how high the mountain.
