Dreams are free, but to get to them can be costlier

Dreams are free, but to get to them can be costlier

Your the only one who knows what dream your chasing and how bad you want it. It can be financial, affect or break a relationship. It could be your life for high risk activities. You might destroy your career prospects, these are all prices you may have to pay. For me to go to 40 countries, over 60 cities has cost time (about 20 years out of my business travel) and company money. Could have owned several investment properties. My dream since 20 years old has been to travel and photograph the world, once I wanted to retire at age 58, but now even at 63 I am enjoying my work life. For me to live my dream is worth it, to you it may be crazy. I have a truckload of memories of the people I met and experiences I have had, so sweet.

Ponder your dream vs a truckload of money. Just make sure its your unique dream your willing to sacrifice and save for, not somebody else's dream and you will have a happy life. Don't wait until retirement to live your dream, you might not have all your marbles, or the drive and energy/health to make it happen. Avoid dying with regrets. It could cost you everything. Early in my life I chose to follow the rock star lifestyle. Playing drums for heavy metal band I fell into the darkness and lost my family and friends along the way. Everything that has happened since then has been an echo from that time. My reckless lifestyle started compounding itself and many bad choices since then has landed me into a nightmarish reality that I may never escape. My dream now is to rectify the things I've wronged and be forgiven for my terrible ways from those affected.

Not sure what makes you tick? Try some new experiences until you find out what excites you and go for it. If it's your current job/business good on you, your a rare bird, enjoy but don't forget your loved ones who want to see more of you and share in your success. At least plan to retire even though you never will with your current thinking. Retire as young as possible to live your dreams at age 30, 40 or 50.

Retirement can be anything you want it to be, even the business you where scared to try. It can be a hobby, interest, passion or a Charity. Following both in a balanced way as they are enablers of each other. When you follow your dreams and work hard to achieve your goals, you will end up making money as the natural outcome of accomplishing your objectives. When you follow money and improve your financial conditions, you will be in a better position to realize your dreams in the long run. Cheers!
