DREAMS (FOR LIFE) do Come True! - A Self Reflection & call for support from all Human’s?

Today I’m so proud to announce that Dreams For Life - Yayasan Impian Kehidupan in Indonesia is NOW providing FREE Yearly Education for 1,080 Children across 18 Community Schools whilst providing Community Montessori Teacher Training to 67 Community Teachers, offering a fully Community Integrated & run Early Childhood Education program to their Children in need.

I reflect: (Please read to the end)

The Day was the 18th April 2016 - I was in UGANDA on a CSR mission with QLIK & before me was a 9 year old girl who was the President of the Child Rights club who’s role it was to Educate Adults on how to treat Children - as her story unfolded in front of me my mission in life changed.

At that very moment I entered deep self reflection considering what if more children in need could access a FREE Quality Education. I started researching to identify & confirm that 90% of a humans brain development occurs in our first 5 years of life, that was it - A Quality, Sustained Early Childhood Education was the key in offering opportunity, learning right from wrong & instilling the right learning foundation at the most cognitive age of learning to more of the worlds children.

From that moment a heartfelt purpose was born inside of me and combined with the inspirational words “DREAM - BELIEVE - ACHIEVE” from Dr Lauren Burns PhD OAM OLY at a Sales event early in my working life, these two moments in time combined to form DREAMS FOR LIFE - Yayasan Impian Kehidupan in Indonesia + Dreams For Life Limited in Australia where our Early Childhood Education Program - Read For Life - Montessori in a Box” was born to do just that - provide a FREE Yearly Community Integrated & Led Education Program to Children in need without access.

The first 4 Years were extremely difficult, I had to have a day job (still to this day) to fund my Non - For Profit organisations with the initial focus being Indonesia. As we operationalised and started to implement the “Read For Life - Montessori in a Box” program first in Sumba, followed by Bali, Gili Trawangan & now Lombok, the impact was starting to be realised - Children understanding right from wrong, parents who did not gain a normal education were realising its value through their Children’s access to a quality early childhood education, whilst at the same time Community members gained teacher training in Montessori to support delivering a consistent quality education every year, whilst Communities elevated after realising the impact that Early Childhood has as they experience a Childs Development, the positive impact on Family to Community, to Region, Country and beyond.

We had and continue to maintain lofty goals of how many children we can impact in Indonesia & Australia, let alone the high level of interest in Nepal, Africa and other parts of Asia with the same need. As they say “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” - to our many Global supporters (you know who you are), our corporate CSR Partners in Palo Alto Networks , Up2Speed / Mastering Technical Sales , Zoom Asia including annual events from amazing Human’s from the Sportsman’s Lunch in Melbourne Australia - you are part of the Children’s Village that offers our ability to continue to make a difference in the eyes of children who need an education.

In those initial 4 years we dreamt of helping just one child, imaging the impact that a quality education could have one day, just like my 9 year old friend in Africa. Those who dare to DREAM & BELIEVE that we can make a difference will ACHIEVE - today as Dreams For Life - Yayasan Impian Kehidupan in Indonesia provides FREE Yearly Education for 1,080 Children across 18 Community Schools whilst providing Community Montessori Teacher Training to 67 Community Teachers offering a fully Community Integrated Early Childhood Education program, my, my wife’s, our teams, our village leaders, our communities, our Ambassadors / donors & our children’s Dreams have come true.

We this achievement we have moved from hoping these results are possible to now believing that anything is possible if you can convince the Village to support change, to support opportunity, to support humanity, to support our future - our children.

As we continue to impact further regions across Indonesia we have Incorporated Dreams For Life Limited in Australia, looking to partner with Deadly Science incorporating STEM education for Early Childhood, knowing (Phase1: as a starting point for us) that there are a reported 3,300 Children without an early Childhood Education in the Northern Territory, therefore we are asking for Corporate Australia, Australian communities & the Australian people to rally around the now proven “Read For Life - Montessori in a Box program, remembering that $580 USD supports education for up to 60 children plus 4 teachers will be trained on the core program to be integrated and run by the community. With an Integrated Community Led (Teaching) approach we can ensure what we have already proven - Community Led & Run programs have a greater long term impact on human’s with the right support of resources, training & guidance.

From our Heart's to your’s, we can make a start in Australia by raising $150,000 USD to implement Early Childhood Education access in the Northern Territory to all Children who cannot access today as part of our Phase 1 approach. Together let’s make the difference in our future, in the lives of all Children in Need, they all deserve an equal opportunity in life!?
