DREAMS...

DREAMS...

Dreams….dreams…dreams…. is the stuff that the growing up years are made of. If we let them, dreams are the fuel for our ambitions as we set out in adult life. If we can still protect and hold on to them, dreams are the stuff that give us purpose as we cross over into middle age and begin to wonder about why we are here… how we can give back… All in all, dreams are precious and must be cherished through all phases of life.

These dreams are different from the ones we see while we sleep each night. The dreams we see in sleep can be seen as merely the brain processing and dumping unwanted mental material just as a computer discards unwanted data, temp files before shut down.

The dreams you see with your eyes wide open, the dreams that bring a twinkle to your eyes, a smile to your lips and a rush of Adrenalin as you visualize them are what we will talk about here. These dreams power our efforts, channeling them to make the dreams come true. Imagine if you had no dreams whatsoever. How lackluster and dispassionate would life be! Its like having a Ferrari without the accelerator pedal!

Be cautious with whom you share your dreams. Not everyone would see them through your eyes. The wilder your dream, the chances of not being understood or ridiculed go higher! Often, you may be called an idle day dreamer, wasting time or escaping reality! My earnest appeal is to hold on to your dreams and DO NOT GIVE UP!

The dreaming mind creates fantasies around themes that reveal our hopes and fears, aspirations and ambition. Many of them are rooted in our childhood, even. Yes, our dreams so often stem from our experiences in childhood. The dreaming mind is looking ahead, sometimes, much ahead of the contemporary times and visualizing a better state, a new possibility.

Hold on to your dreams, cherish them and keep making efforts to translate them into reality. That is the secret of happiness, the secret of growth and the secret of inner contentment. Let not the folks around you pull the curtain on your dreams. Albeit, give the sparkle of a dream into their eyes too! Dream on and believe that you are not given a dream without the power to make it happen!
