Dreams can come true!

After SHE was a Graduate, what’s next?? was the one though that hovered her mind with uncertainty.

Unclear and lost in maze thinking about different available options of higher education, which can give a meaningful shape to her career ahead.

Options for knowing the unknown was limited as social media the then had not marked its way as it has become quite indispensable today.

SHE had numerous dreams but were all cluttered and entangled without a clear vision to follow.

Guided by a friend SHE prepared her resume in search of a job…..Any job; as until then identifying the stream for higher studies couldn’t be concluded.

SHE got a call within a week for a job titled ‘Data Entry Operator’ and went for the first interview of her life.

But almighty God had some other plans, SHE got selected for a job titled ‘Recruitment Executive’ for that firm and SHE gladly accepted the offer with a broad smile and meagre salary as for her the term recruitment executive was all brand new.

SHE joined the firm as ‘Recruitment Executive’ and slowly and steadily started learning the nuances of the job profile and what is expected out of her in that role.

But quite surprisingly SHE was the only Graduate ‘Recruitment Executive’ amidst all her team members as rest were all MBA HR’s.

Three months rolled with positivity, new learnings and loads of excitement and in those three months SHE could finally stitch up her thoughts of higher studies constructively by closely following her superiors and colleagues.

SHE chose to concentrate on her higher studies by pursuing PGDM in HR (not from Tier 1’s) leaving her 1st job.

By then SHE got exposed to the competition in the job market and the demand & supply curve for this specific profile.

SHE embarked on her new journey to complete her post-graduation with lot of confidence and hope which motivated her to successfully complete and set another journey for her career ahead.

Now SHE has successfully crossed an experiential and meaningful voyage of more than a decade past 5 years, carefully balancing family, and workplace.

But somewhere deep inside “being NOT FROM TIER-1” was struggling to find its way and unfold its wings.? ?

Hence, murmuring the mantra “Better LATE than NEVER”, SHE enrolled herself to #EPSHRM, one-year Executive Program in Strategic Human Resource Management from the prestigious #IIMCalcutta and turned her strong desire into reality.

Proud to be that SHE!

This journey of 1 year was also not a cakewalk, sacrificing weekends, concentrating on studies after a long gap, juggling family, different expectations, workplace, and virtual classes was truly a tug-of-war.

Today, when I hold the certificate, every bit of stress, hard work, sacrifice, weariness seems worth.

Belief for continuous learning and the mantra of ‘Unlearning & Relearning’ stands all the more stronger.

My sincere thanks to all the faculties of #IIMCalcutta who took us through this memorable journey and in a way supported all 70 of us to turn our dreams into reality by augmenting our personal and professional growth.

The connect and camaraderie with 70 unknow individuals from different parts of the country and beyond was something invaluable to treasure for life.

All that helped SHE, was her self-motivation, resilience, confidence to be a better version of herself, hard-work, persistence, and strong sense of commitment.
