Dreaming about who you want to be!
István Baráth
I help individuals tell their stories to connect with others by creating compelling visual narratives through photography.
I was sitting in my living room and thinking about what shall i do and how could i provide some value to the amazing community here.
I love to do my videos but at the same time i can not hide my writing ambitions, which i know it still needs to be polished.
Well, everything in life gets better with practice, so here i am again with this article. I love to write about self-motivation, self-development, sharing stories and experiences.
This story today is about a gentleman, called Peter.
Peter was born and raised in a town in East Hungary, he was a little cheeky guy as a kid, he always wanted be a unicorn. Im just kidding. This is another fairy tale, anyways i love unicorns :)
Back to Peters story. Peter always wanted to play the shop game in the nursery, where he is a seller and the other children are the customers, he always managed convince her classmates to buy from him, from the very young age he was so good. When he got older and went to primary school, he was trading Pokemon cards and basketball cards, back in the days when Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan was played in the Chicago Bulls.
He enjoyed the exchange of products and everything related to entrepreneurship.
His Grandmother worked in a chocolate factory, where she managed to take some chocolate home and obviously giving it to the grandchildren including Peter.
Another friend of Peter called Thomas, his father had a baking business, so they found out they can do a deal. A bread for some chocolate. That was a great business even though no money involved. Peter learned the lesson of how to exchange resources.
On the weekends it was a little market nearby, where he used to go and shop some clothing with his mother. Than in the age of 14 he found out he could go there as well and sell some of the used jumpers and trousers or whatever was not needed, even old toys, GI Joe figures. It was not making a fortune for him but the fact he was selling to others was such a good feeling. Negotiating and sort of hustling all day was a really pleasant experience for a young guy.
After some of the years passed and he turned into 18. Just finished the high school, he did not have many opportunities as his family were not having so much money, so basically he could not afford a business school, which was his dream.
He had to go a school which was not for him, he was so disappointed and all the dreams of being an entrepreneur has been buried. Sitting in seminaries for years, which he had no intention and clue what is all about. He started to party a lot and drinking a lot, he lost himself, he thought the only option is to just go with the flow and forget about anything in life. He did not have an objective anymore. Until one day, he wake up in a pot hole with scars on his face and covered by blood. He knew something went wrong, he knew its time for a change, he knew it can not be like this anymore. The other day he went home with a train which took him 2 hours and he was still hesitant, but had no other option. He told his parents he is leaving university and creating something special.
How comes, Peter just made these decision all of a sudden. It is a question in our mind, how he could be so brave? The answer is: He let himself going down to the point where it was a gap, he had to choose between going down the hill or climb back up.
The best of the whole thing, Peter managed to finish the University and eventually had a degree as a programmer. What would we do?Most of us would start to apply for jobs as a programmer, but Peter did not want to be just sitting in front of the computer all day, he wanted to be the best version of himself, he wanted to create his own future. He wanted to organise his own time. So he took the hard route, he chose to be an entrepreneur. He started to find his own team of programmers and created a company. He never made a single program or website. His team now is a group of 20 people and the company has a good revenue.
Peter is a fictional character, the story based on my fantasy, but the lesson is over and over again, although we face certain expectations from our parents, friends, society, but we do have a choice of choosing our own destiny.
?If you believe hard enough in your ability to create something special and spread it to the world, go for it! Never hesitate, test yourself, you can and you will fail, perhaps many many times. Never accept what you don not like. Always find the way to be better.
Helping you to create an unstoppable action plan to achieve your goals, and make your vision a reality!
