Dreaming of cooler climes...

With a heatwave striking the UK this week, I've been daydreaming about my last ski trip to Morzine in the Portes du Soleil and wanted to share a memorable day with you, in case like me, you are also yearning for cooler climes right now!

At Oxford Ski Company, we pride ourselves on visiting all of the properties we offer in person, and in early December 2023, I was lucky enough to be invited to?Chalet Tataali. My first morning started with incredible views of the Alps, freshly brewed coffee and warm croissants. Our private chef prepared a breakfast feast, perfect fuel for the slopes.

We grabbed hand warmers and headed to the Prodain lift, just a short drive away. The conditions were perfect – clear skies and freshly groomed pistes. We explored the lovely ski area, before heading back towards the village centre.

For lunch, we stopped at a cosy mountain restaurant, La Cabane, and enjoyed hearty Savoyarde dishes on a sun-drenched terrace with panoramic views.

After lunch, we chose scenic, tree-lined runs and found untouched patches of powder for some fresh tracks.

As the sun set, we returned to the chalet for delicious snacks and a chance to unwind, enjoying all that Chalet Tataali had to offer. Some of us relaxed in the?swimming pool and?sauna, others with a glass of bubbles on the balcony.

Our three-course dinner was a culinary masterpiece. We then lingered at the bar late into the evening, enjoying each other's company and the chalet's?ambiance.

That day in The Portes du Soleil was unforgettable, filled with adventure, great food, and friends in a stunning setting. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to the Alps this coming winter.
