Is Dreamforce dead?

Is Dreamforce dead?

Dreamforce is the biggest tech event of the year in the enterprise software world.

Nearly 200,000 people fly in from around the world and pay upwards of $5,000 to connect with the Salesforce community and learn more about Salesforce’s latest innovations.

I say with no uncertainty that attending Dreamforce every year since 2010 has dramatically changed the trajectory of my career, for the better. Dreamforce moments such as winning the Golden Hoodie , speaking in two keynote presentations, and getting inspired to learn to code by my heroes changed my life. I would be nothing without Dreamforce.

But so much has changed in the world recently. Salesforce, its community, and the way people engage with each other are so different today than they were even pre COVID. And I can’t help but wonder if Dreamforce is still the must attend event of the year.

In this video I'll analyze six ways Dreamforce has changed, for better or for worse, then give you my recommendation on whether or not you should still attend.

What's the verdict? I went. It felt very alive.

I'm looking forward to participating at Dreamforce after the long break. 2019 was so crowded and had over 100k attendees, and it felt almost overwhelming, but still a great experience. This year is supposed to be scaled down to a little over 30k I read. I'm always interested in the learning experiences and to see people in person. So this will be my 4th Dreamforce since 2017. I'm looking forward to meet people in person again.
