Dreamforce 2022 - Recap

Dreamforce 2022 - Recap

I could proudly say – an amazing conference I have attended in SFO this year! Thanks to Intellect Design Arena Ltd .

This 2022 event was special, not only because it’s a re-union after the pandemic (a break from 2019), but also because as it’s Dreamforce 20th anniversary. There was plenty of excitement observed. LinkedIn and Twitter were being full of #df22 posts.

We all know Salesforce is a company having philosophy of ‘Giving Back to Community’, and on that vision the company is looking for 100+ Countries Sustainability as their key agenda.

  • So far, 25 Mn for Education (adopted 130 Public schools across the globe); 7 Mn for Hospitals; 50,000 Non-profits and NGOs running for free on Salesforce services, and many other environmental (Salesforce Loves Trees, initiative for One trillion trees planting) and social cause with Covid 19, Ocean Clean, etc. are few examples of the Ohana Community Culture in front of the world.
  • Salesforce ecosystem is growing quite rapidly with more customers, partners, and global developer community. They vision to create 9.3 Mn jobs and 1.6 Tr USD revenue by 2026. Their Trailblazer community is growing day-by-day (17 Mn+ as of now).
  • Salesforce is zero emission company and introduced - Net Zero Cloud / Marketplace.
  • Towards their ‘sustainability’ value, this year they have also introduced – Ecopreneurs (Eco-friendly Entrepreneurship) initiative.

Everyone has their own Dreamforce experience and takeaway. I found the Dreamforce quite useful, with full of energy (vibrancy), events, sessions, lot-of-information, and most important the in-person meet-up experience with many Coy Reps, SMEs, Techies, like-minded people I have ever seen in any other event.

Salesforce has a commitment to bring something for everyone (in all areas) in each DF, and I found that true in DF22 as well, – over the course of the three-day show, Salesforce lifted the lid for multiple updates.

Dreamforce Main Keynote – by Co-CEOs – Marc Benioff and Bret Taylor

The opening Dreamforce keynote is always a sight to behold, and often features celebrity and music performances alongside the latest tech updates /news. Same was this time – the Dreamforce main keynote was delivered with incredible energy.

Titled – The Great Reunion, 40K attendees in San Francisco, and ~150K viewers online.

I wasn't expecting the event to begin with the Hawaiian show – but I was able to relate this with Ohana tradition. We listen the classic from Lenny Kravitz too…

This was the main session to frame Salesforce’s big ideas, going into the future – not only featuring new technology innovations, but also including important elementary messages. Here is a rundown of all the key topics from the main keynote –

  • Salesforce Genie
  • All New Slack
  • True to the Core Progress
  • Hyperforce
  • Net Zero Cloud

Apart this there was innovation discussion about Salesforce Flow and Salesforce Einstein as well, with exciting details about:

  • Trailblazer Community
  • World’s Largest Enterprise Apps Company
  • Nonprofit Customers

The session was full of innovation and very inspirational. Here are the highlights

Summary: Shoshin

Benioff raised the word Shoshin, – a concept from Zen Buddhism / Japanese Martial Arts, meaning ‘beginner's mind’.?It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject level, just as a beginner would.

“Benioff mentioned – This is a new day for us. We need to approach this new day with a 'beginner's mind', asking – how do we recultivate ours? what do we really want…. for Salesforce, for our industries, for our communities? What's important to us?”

Let’s get this started!
