Investing in equity will require a huge initial capital. As a newbie or fresh grad, I do not have such capital. In fact, I had a big study debt after completing my Bachelor's Degree. Do you face the same issue that I faced?
To be a millionaire, there is always another solution. The second solution is joining an MNC company that had a "Stock Option Program (SOP)" or "Restricted Stock unit (RSU)" as part of the employee retention program.
How does this work?
Upon joining the MNC workforce, you will be given SOP package as part of the recruitment program. e.g. 4000 units of equity at USD 10 value which vested over 4 years of employment. Upon completing year 1 employment, you will be able to vest 1000 unit shares from the original package. In year 2, you will be able to vest another 1000 units, and so on.
How do you earn from it? In year 5, you have 4000 units, and the equity price at that time is USD 50. If you decided to sell all the 4000 units at USD 50, you will get USD 200,000. But you need to minus the cost of USD 10. Net net, you will get USD 160,000 ( 4000 units x USD 40 ). USD 160k x 4 = RM 640k (let's assume the USDMYR conversion rate is 4 )
You are halfway to being a millionaire. Do you get the concept?
