Dream Small!

Dream Small!

I am against “dream big….don’t let you sleep” quotes.

In my humble opinion, much before we start dreaming big, everyone has to learn dreaming small endeavours and there is no need of sacrificing our sleep for those. Many times, many people don’t want to dream big. They might be just fine with dreaming something that is not magnanimous.

What could be these small dreams? It could be a simple activity of improving efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the work we do repeatedly every day at workplace, at home or socially – anywhere!

Each time the next iteration of the activity begins, we must have improved some small part of the process by learning from previous iteration; we must have finished the deliverable with some added value, quality, which will be recognized by the receiver of our deliverable or we must have completed the task more swiftly than before.

Here the dream is that I wish to see if I am capable of improving efficiency, effectiveness or quality on my own, by taking decisions on my own and by analysing pros and cons of my decisions and outcomes of those actions.

Accomplishing small dreams give us self-confidence, mush needed self-respect to start dreaming big, most importantly it teaches one the process of achieving bigger and bigger dreams (in the context of the size of the earlier dreams).
