Dream to reality

When i design i think of my surrounding and fantasies about the runway and a dress appears in my mind, i visualise a model walking in a creation i came up with , this happens more so when i go to bed and close my eyes as i listen to music and dream away , sometimes i toss and turn as my mind runs away with the vision and i get the urge to get up and draw it so i won’t forget, if i feel too lazy i take quick notes on my phone to remind myself to draw concept the next day…..

and so i start sketching and from one design comes another and so on…its a snow ball affect each inspire one another and without looking up i have drawn a dozen dresses!

Each collection has a meaning and concept…either by colour scheme or a theme they are all uniform and marry each other.

First i do a rough sketch and take notes of how i imagine it, fabrics and colours and beading etc…. then i will draw a more detailed sketch and use colour to bring it to life, once i have the final design i will then do a tech sketch either on computer or by hand i prefer doing it all by hand a technical sketch is done at an accurate scale of the way the dress will sit on the body so it must be realistic.

Thirdly i will play around with fabrics and find the right material to create the garment, sample will be made and a model will wear it to demonstrate the movement and structure of piece.

Then it is ready for the runway!
