Dream, Preparation and Execution
"Dream for the most optimistic possibility, be prepared for the most pessimistic possibility and execute as if you are doing a normal thing." Suddenly this line knocked at my mind after lots of scattered thoughts. I feel, this is applicable to any initiative or project irrespective of type, starting from producing a new movie, establishing a new hospital or launching a new software product etc.
Being a cricket lover, I would like to illustrate this by simulating the thought process of one of the greatest Skippers in the cricket history, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In the beginning of a tournament, forget about Dhoni even audience are super optimistic for the winning of the team led by him. While preparation or planning for a particular match you can see a different version of Dhoni. He rarely considers the star value of any individual player, rather he usually prefers to pick best 11 whose skill sets are probably going to contribute best for that particular condition or pitch. Finally in an ongoing match including final ones, you will find another version of him. He looks super cool and normal in his face, as if gully cricket is going on.
When I try to simulate many success stories like above I find this strategy is widely used by the lead character of that particular story.
