Dream Job Pursuit. Episode 4.

Episode 4. Interview with the company and a test task completed.

All coincidences in the script are random, truth and fiction are mixed.

After such an extravagant interview with a recruiting agency, Olya decided to make a list of questions for agencies to be better prepared for the next time.?

By the way, Olya already had a list of the? questions for the companies.?

In total, Olya already had the following tools created:

In the meantime, an interesting vacancy for company X flashed on her FB. Olya really liked the description of the responsibilities: no water, consistency and no discrimination massages. And, most importantly, it resonated with one of Olya's passion: the employer appealed to the development of the whole Ukrainian industry through the noble mission of brand new approache scaling and implementation. They were eager to find an ambassador of L&D.?

Our hero was always attracted by beautiful noble motives and intentions and always sees something good behind them. Whether this is a disadvantage or a positive quality is up to you to decide. Lets go ahead and see what were the next Olyas steps.?

The first interview passed without any incident. Olya was asked neither about her bank account nor her breast size. What a pity…

They invited Olya for the second interview to come to their office. Despite the fact that it was the hardest quarantine period, Olya was not embarrassed by this, because she really wanted to get into the company in every sense.

Either because of the longing for the personal communication, or out of curiosity, but at the second interview, 5 people came to see Olya at once. Despite the fact that our hero was a little confused by the temporarily lost coaching skill of beacon vision, the meeting went well.

A week later, Olya was sent a test task, with a quite tough deadline - two days to complete. It was necessary to create a training strategy for the company for a year and to make a presentation.

Olya was not embarrassed by either the size of the task or the deadlines. Remember, the fire was lit inside her soul.

In one night, Olya knocked on all the inner doors of her expertise, woke up the bearded sages of great knowledge who were dormant in her head, untwisted all the tablets of the pure true concept of “Corporate Learning Strategy”, crafted a presentation of divine beauty and sent it to the recruiter of company X.

Olya was invited to the third meeting also in the office. No, it didn't bother her again. The recruiter said literally: “We want to meet with you again.”

When you come to the company's office as a job seeker, one way or another, you immediately imagine how you work there. It's like on a first or second date: you look at a potential partner and immediately see him in your shared kitchen, bizarrely combine your DNA for future generations and listen to how your name will sound in combination with his last name.

Olya had a feeling that it would be one of the final meetings and had already dissolved into fantasies of how she would work here: and therefore blossoming flowers slowly and gracefully crawled on the walls of the reception, and the aroma of vanilla and LOVE IS chewing gum spread in the air …

- Olga, come and start your presentation.?

Stumbling over an oleander bush that was suddenly crawling behind a hanger, Olya went into the room, where she was promised "just a meeting."

All board members of the company were sitting at a huge round table that occupied the entire room: CEO, HRD, Director of Operations, Financial Director, Head of marketing, Head of PR and Sales.

This time Olya was not shocked at all. No. From behind her left shoulder, she heard a sarcastic whisper, "F***k OMG. It's a trap. We have to crawl away,” and a little girl in a white dress peeked out from behind the right shoulder, ready to cry aloud because of a burst balloon, muttering in fright,“ Well, you promised just a meeting.

?- Please present your project - Olya heard again and saw native slides on a TV. They, like a crowd of relatives, waved her cheerleaders at sports competitions, waving bright donuts and shouting her name.

While Olya was presenting her project, having revived all her presentation skills after almost a year and a half of quarantine, she felt herself in her native environment, which already supported her in itself. But when the presentation ended and Olya was asked to sit down, she got very excited. There were a lot of questions from the directors, and Olya did not answer all of them. In general, when everything was over, Olya exhaled calmly and realised that it was a super experience that she had not practised for a long time.

The recruiter went to see her off and on the way to the reception said:

?- Are you currently in an unstable emotional state?

?- ... I was worried, yes.

?- Yes, it was noticeable.

Instead of blooming oleanders and the smell of vanilla at the reception, Olya stepped into a puddle with ice water that occurred in the reception. Because of so unexpected question from the recruiter it felt like Olya dived deep head first. And she could come up to the surface only in the car which carefully took her home.

OMG! This episode reminds me almost exactly the same experience with Ukrainian airline company back to April 2021. I am curious about details and awaiting episode 5. ??
