Dreams are the fuel that keeps us moving forward. They inspire us to create, grow, and achieve. But have you ever paused to ask yourself: Where are my dreams coming from? Are they born out of love and inspiration, or are they derived from pain, fear, or the need to prove something?
For a long time, I didn’t think about this distinction. I chased dreams because I wanted to escape failure, fix something I thought was broken in my life, or prove my worth to the world. Those dreams felt heavy, like they carried the weight of my insecurities. And even when I achieved one or two, there was little joy. They didn’t heal the wounds I thought they would. And I failed multiple times.
Dreams that come from pain often have a sense of urgency. They feel like a race—driven by the need to overcome fear, avoid judgment, or prove something to someone (often, ourselves). For example:
While these dreams can still push us to act, they often leave us feeling restless, even when we achieve them. Why? Because they’re fuelled by fear, not fulfilment.
On the other hand, dreams born from love and inspiration feel expansive. They come from a place of curiosity, passion, and the desire to share or create something meaningful. These dreams are about building, not escaping.
How I Shifted My Dreams
When I reflect on my journey, I see a turning point where I stopped chasing dreams from a place of pain and started dreaming from love. After multiple failed businesses, and after attending the "Heal your life" workshop, I realised I was driven by the need to prove my worth. I wanted to show the world—and myself—that I wasn’t a failure. But that mindset only led to burnout and frustration.
I, then, asked myself a different question: What would I pursue if I didn’t need to prove anything? The answer was simple: I wanted to help people heal, grow, and connect with themselves. That’s when I stepped into the role of a spiritual life coach. This dream wasn’t just about fixing my past; it was about creating something meaningful for the future. And it felt lighter, freer, and more fulfilling.

How to Dream from Love and Inspiration
If you feel like your dreams are stemming from pain, it’s okay. Awareness is the first step. Here’s what helped me shift:
Dream Light, Dream Free
When we dream from love, our goals become lighter, our actions more intentional, and our achievements more fulfilling. It’s not about running away from pain but moving toward joy.
So, I would like to know, what’s driving your dreams today?
Are they coming from a place of love and inspiration, or from fear and pain?
Take a moment to reflect—because where your dreams come from can change everything.
