In the quaint embrace of their home, nestled amidst the gentle whispers of time, Mr. and Mrs. Mikran, a family bound by love and resilience, seasoned by life's trials and triumphs, found solace in the warmth of their son, Harsha, and his wife, Kayal, both accomplished civil engineers. Harsha, now 29, had grown to be a reflection of their love and values, a beacon of hope in their lives. The young couple carved their paths in the world of construction, their earnings painting a portrait of stability and prosperity.
Yet, amidst the bustling rhythm of their lives, they never strayed far from the sanctuary of family. Particularly, Mrs. Mikran, a former P.G. Teacher of Botany and a school Principal at present, found solace in the companionship of her son and daughter-in-law. Together, they wove a tapestry of love and shared responsibilities, finding joy in the simple moments of togetherness. The Mikrans’ home radiated with laughter and shared responsibilities. Kayal, with her graciousness, embraced Mrs. Mikran as her own mother, easing her burdens with love and compassion. Together, they navigated through the tapestry of domestic chores, finding joy in the simple moments of togetherness.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mikran, a former Professor of English and a college Principal at present, savored the tranquility of his days. He found solace in his morning walks, the rustle of newspapers, and the gentle strokes of his pen as he penned down his thoughts and reflections amidst his hectic schedule. Their life, though not without its challenges, was a testament to resilience and unwavering love. Mrs. Mikran, in particular, found immense happiness in the harmony of their family, her heart brimming with gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon them.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting its golden hues upon their abode, the Mikrans found themselves immersed in the gentle embrace of contentment. “Dear I’ll go for walk”. “Shall I order for water can today?” Mr. Mikran asked his wife as he was getting ready to go out in the fateful early morning. ?As the first rays of dawn painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, Mrs. Mikran awoke, all of a sudden, to find tears streaming down her cheeks. Bewildered by her own emotions, she turned to her husband, her heart heavy with a sense of loss.
"What troubles you, my love?" Mr. Mikran inquired, concern etched into the lines of his face.
Unable to contain her emotions any longer, Mrs. Mikran poured forth the contents of her heart. In her dream, she had found herself surrounded by the familiar faces of her beloved family - Harsha and Kayal, (name given by Mrs. Mikran to Harsha’s wife) their laughter echoing through the halls, their love filling every corner of their home. But as she blinked away the remnants of sleep, reality came crashing down upon her like a tidal wave. Their only son, Harsha, had been snatched away from them four and a half years ago when he was 24, a victim of a sudden cardiac arrest that had shattered their world.
As Mrs. Mikran recounted the details of her dream, Mr. Mikran drew her into his arms, his own heart heavy with the weight of their loss. Together, they sought solace in each other's embrace, finding strength in the enduring bond that held their family together. In the quiet moments that followed, the Mikrans found themselves enveloped in a cocoon of love and memories. Though their son was gone, his spirit lived on in the echoes of their dreams, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness that threatened to consume them. Mr. Mikran was bewildered at her question “Elders say the dreams we have in the morning will come true. Will my dream come true, dear?”
