Dream big: Everyone must benefit from the digital economy

We thank President Jokowi and Son San for their incredible support. During our meeting we discussed how SoftBank, Grab and Indonesia can work together even closer to serve Indonesia even better. 

We’ve been thinking about Grab’s role.

  1. As the country progresses, we must make sure everyone benefits. Access to fundamental services will be key, and we’ll provide affordable e-healthcare, particularly in areas where there are few doctors. 
  2. To safeguard the future of Indonesia’s economy and be competitive globally, we need to create more high-tech jobs. Our R&D centre in Indonesia will give young talent the opportunity to move up and work on the most challenging problems.
  3. Son San shared during our meetings in Jakarta to “bring the blue sky back”. We need to build the right infrastructure to support a cleaner air environment and less macet (traffic jams). Investments into building an electric vehicle ecosystem and efficient geo-mapping will go a long way towards bringing the blue sky back.
Taking this meeting with President Jokowi and Son San, I’m inspired by how big they both dream, and how they constantly push for the betterment of society.

Beyond Indonesia, we ask ourselves how else we can create REAL sustainable impact in each country in Southeast Asia.

We will empower many millions of micro-entrepreneurs with economic opportunities, alleviate poverty through financial inclusion, and create great access to high quality services… We are tremendously excited about what lies ahead!

Hi there, you can call me Lhiz. I am currently working in Malaysia. last week Monday, we had an accident using your services. Here in Malaysia. Your Grab driver fell asleep and we got into an accident. Four persons in the car including a 5 year old kid. We called your customer service, we provided all the evidence for the incident including the police report. And we missed our flight going back home. yet, your service offered 1000MYR for all the damages. This is so frustrating that you dont care about your passengers and even the people who use your services. Your agents doesnt care at all. Even if I appeal many times they just dont care. I am really willing to sue the driver and grab for the trauma that you bought to the kid and all the passengers. I will!

Feedback for you Mr. Tan : your customer service tells me it’s at the discretion of the driver whether he will follow my pick request in the messages to driver to be picked up at the lobby at my condo. Hmmm paying top dollar to be told where I will be picked up at a condo ???? No. That’s the incorrect answer to customer. What happens if one has luggage or heavy bags ?? Seriously bad service. This is the only country I have ever experienced such stupidity. Feel free to contact me via a phone call. I wish to discuss this further. Thank you (platinum customer )
