Dream big and believe in what you do

Its been more then a year now that I have come to Dubai with my family leaving behind a career in Automotive in Europe and walking away from a great job, comfortable surroundings, friends and the extended family. I felt it is time to get back to you all and share the experience and some insights on where we are in our journey now.

Before I start talking about the good things and all that we found here in Dubai, let me be very clear there are always moments when you do a step like this that make you doubt it and its not always all glitter and gold.

With that said let me walk through what I usually tell people when they ask me about how things are:

1. The family is well settled and we have made new friends
2. Do we miss things - YES, Seasons, Cold weather, a little more green at times - but that's about it
3. The Job - its a blast and I will talk more about this later
4. The country and town we live in is above and beyond amazing and it goes at a pace that is just adorable

Let's talk about why live here is so good. We did for the last 12 month live in an apartment in the 21st floor in Dubai's Marina. The picture here shows you a good morning walks view and I am sure you will agree with me it's an amazing atmosphere to be able to breathe in every day. Living around people from all over the world and having our son growing up in a truly multi cultural environment is something that money can not buy you and on top comes along with the quality of one of the safest cities in the world.

Now let me ask you what aside from safety, open mindedness and 355 days of sun is one of the most valuable things in life? Time, the time we get to spent around our busy agendas when we travel, work and have a social life.

Here again Dubai and its unique set up offer a blend of quality unseen in Europe. Whether it is the convenience of getting your laundry picked up at your door, or the groceries delivered 24/7, the Pool and Gym in almost every building or community that serves for a health lifestyle. It all contributes to our busy lives quality and making things easier. On a usual good day I get to wake up with my family, go to the gym, have a quick shower, coffee with my wife and still be in the office around 9:00 am.

In the evening as the commute is short and traffic rarely is an issue I get to spent more than an hour with my son before he gets to bed around 20.00. Being the managing director of a growing business sure sometimes I get to do the nightshift and there are weekends that get consumed at times - but we all have that.

So far you'd probably say that's great but I don't see the extra extra. So lets talk a little more about a digital live - today I carry my car registration document, my drivers license and my credit cards with me in my phone - governmental services are truly digital in this country and they constantly improve and ask for your satisfaction after every interaction. Comparing this to understaffed and over bureaucratized German public offices is like comparing day and night.

Fuel gets delivered to my car while I am in the office by a fuel truck that I order with an app while I leave the fuel cap open - I know this is a very local solution and probably a one off in the world, but its there and it safes me from the 10 minutes stop at the pump.

We are in the very fortunate situation as young parents to afford a nursery for our son from 8-14 and from 14-18 the nanny takes care of him. Comparing this with Germany my son is still on a Governmental waiting list for one of the promised spaces by the last 4 governments and the private alternatives for the nursery would be double the cost of what it is here in Dubai, let alone that a nanny would probably despite a double income a far stretch to the budget in Europe.

Because of that we get a regular Date night as a couple on a Friday evening and as we live in one of the world's most aspiring food cities we get to experience amazing places every week.

Medical services are on a world class level and you rarely have to wait longer than 24 hours for an appointment with a doctor of your choice.

Now let's talk about the business and why that is one of the best decisions I had done in my career path.

The Middle East is a region that is getting structured and organized as we speak, for years the business was short handed and not always straight but these times are coming to an end and who better but a German to bring some structure to this.

Jokes a side the main difference is that in this part of the world people are currently wanting to grow, innovate and have little fear of doing something new. Paired with a digital first and AI desire it makes for business meetings that 9 out of 10 times lead to some form of business. Logic is applied to collaboration over cold hard purchasing departments that look at numbers predominantly. Our team consists of 15 people today and I am proud to say we are a 50/50 gender mix as well as we are representing 8 nationalities and are growing as we speak.

We have with the team recreated in the last 12 month 3 products and have launched my first end consumer product in my career with the team together. www.vehiclereport.me. I am proud to say that it has already been used actively by more the 2000 people in just 1.5 month - and we are growing our Automotive partner network as we speak with some of the leading market places as well as Banks, Auto service Businesses and Insurance companies.

We will in 2024 grow by 100% in revenue and 2025 will see us expanding the business into new markets in the region.

The team redeveloped and launched our proprietary AI solution for Used car valuations and future forecast and we are in the exciting phase of learning with the AI just now.

All this paired with great people and the freedom to grow at a fast pace makes for unbelievably good mood everyday.
