Mother's Day weekend just passed by so quickly, we had Thai food for the celebration and in the blink of an eye, today is already Wednesday. As we go through the week, I wanted to pause and take the opportunity to reflect on the precious weekend off (7/5-8/5) followed by another rest and off day on Mon & Tues (9/5-10/5).

On a Monday morning, I had an Uncle (Double Twist) who was driving the coach, a shuttle bus that fetches us from Queenstown MRT to AIA, asking me this question: "Aren't you tired?" Guess my response to the Uncle: "Uncle, if I'm doing things that really matter to me and I'm deeply passionate about, I can work 7 days a week, taking small breaks in between to recharge myself, the tiredness you mentioned is only all in the mind"?It was spoken in mixed English, Chinese and Cantonese.

Thereafter, in the afternoon, I met up with one of my friends whom I have not met for the longest time ever since I ended my Part-time stint with Isetan as a Retail Sales Assistant. We went for some red wine at Wine Connection and to our surprise, the red wine tasted fabulous, overlooking the Sea view with the cable car.

In fact, for the longest time ever, I have actually not had the courage to step out of my comfort zone, after undergoing training with my current mentor, Martin for the coming to a year or so, but this time around is different. Martin is a mentor, coach, and leader, at the same time, I see him as my brother and a friend whom I can always approach for anything. Being ever-optimistic, I learned how to appreciate the finest details in life, show gratitude, and most importantly, always stay positive with an abundant mindset.

I think many of my friends and colleagues if not all, know that I have a twin brother and his name is Wei Beng. We enjoy volunteering and many such things, for one, we understand and appreciate the TRUE meaning of giving back. We constantly motivate and remind each other to be focused and really find joy in not only helping others but seeing the good in everything.

If you had read up to this point, you may then be wondering, so why am I sharing all this??

About exactly one month ago, on 9th April, my ballot for the Adidas Run for MBS was successful, unfortunately, it rained in the morning and the run was canceled. Actually, I could have gone home to sleep, but instead, I decided to look for a 24h gym and I ended up in Gymmboxx. It was later when I got home after the training that I picked up my handphone and saw the notification, at that point in time, unknowingly, I could not contain my tears...

In the older days, the job as a Financial consultant may be viewed as just simply a salesperson that sells insurance, and push products but in today's time and age, the landscape is evolving, this is a profession, as all representatives are licensed to conduct the business. It was quite a tedious process for me to obtain the license which I hold dearly, all thanks to my Superiors who gave the go-ahead that I am able to be officially a representative now.

Long story cut short if someone ever asked me, so why Financial Planning (FP), "I talk about FP openly to anybody and anyone out there because it has become an integral part of my life." With proper FP, I strongly believe it will lead us to what we set out to achieve in life.

Building a fitter tomorrow, starting today! By fit, I do not mean putting on that muscles but a fitter and healthier financial portfolio than you can ever imagine just like the 6 pack dream every guy hopes they can achieve at least once in their lifetime, well, at least for me.

Concurrently holding on to both appointments while working full-time, am I here for the quick cash OR simply just a sideline to earn extra, the answer is NO. If you asked like what the Uncle asked if I'm tired, I composed this till past midnight, 2 am to be exact, and reporting to work at 7 am earlier this morning, I will say YES to the Uncle.
