Drawing Lessons
I often get asked how I got into drawing and if I can recommend any courses or books…
I have drawn since childhood—it’s a fantastic way to understand the world and imagine new ones. However, there was a period when I let my drawing skills slide. Later, while working in service design as an educator and practitioner, I realised the value of visual notes in communication. I began creating visuals and teaching clients how to make simple drawings to express their ideas and share them with their teams.
I set up my visualisation company, Hazel White Design, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many colleagues I had worked with in service design asked me to produce visual explainers and videos to support health and social care staff who needed clear information but were short on time. Today, my business creates visuals for clients across various sectors, including sports, health, and education, helping to simplify and communicate important messages to those who prefer information delivered quickly and concisely.
Here are some of the books, courses, and meet-ups that have been invaluable to my learning:

If you’re looking to dive into the world of visual note-taking, these resources are a great place to start.
Are there any resources you'd add - especially more meet-ups. Asking for a friend ??.
