DRAPING: Oui's Term for September
DRAPING : Oui’s Term for September
The new makeup trend being brought back into fashion by the famous designer Marc Jacobs.
Apparently DRAPING is the new contouring….
The makeup face-shaping trends just keep going back and forth. We’ve been told to put down our contouring brushes, since the trend is officially over. So we brought back highlighters and called it strobing. But now we’re back to basics with a trend called draping.
Draping is a technique used to chisel and sculpt the face with blush. It is meant to bring out the natural “drape of the face”.
This technique is the perfect way to shape the face with a twist: a fresh and colorful glow that is often missing with the classic contouring technique.
Draping will structure the face by giving volume to the cheeks using two tones of blush.
The darker shade in the blush duo helps "chisel" your cheeks, and the lighter one is used to blend, creating a more natural look.
Draping differs from all other contouring techniques in that it only involves cheeks and does not require heavy, full-coverage foundation or highlighter.
Draping allows you to keep a natural look with a twist: While bringing a fresh flush to your cheeks, it will create a plumping effect on your face.
Step-by-step: to drape your face, apply the darker tone of blush to sculpt your cheekbones, and then clean any harsh lines by buffing it out with a lighter shade.
As far as translation goes, DRAPING is translated as DRAPING.
See you in October with another beauty-full term!
