Draconian Demonitisation

Been to Thane yesterday, tried to withdraw cash, from Bassien Catholic Co-op Bank, was given to understand Rs 10,000/- can be disbursed to saving account holders, and Rs 50,000/- can be disbursed to current account holders, but due to shortage of cash on that particular day only Rs 6000/- was given to me, there was no Que save two customers before me. Today, tried to withdraw rs 5000/- from Bassein Catholic Co-op Bank, Manickpur branch, Vasai, was declined with an endorsement on the rear of the cheque stating, "Exceeds limit". Inquired with the manager, who said, as per RBI's directives, "Withdraws permitted up to only Rs 10,000/- per week. I usually spend between Rs 500/- to Rs 1200/- per day, which I can account for, i.e. Rs 60/- for bus from Mira Rd to Thane and back, Rs 80/- for one veg thali, Rs 32 for auto, Rs 100/- for court fee stamps, Rs 26/- for Photocopying, Rs 125/ for typing, besides morning breakfast Rs 30/-, Dinner Rs 120, Mobile , train travel etc; which works out to between Rs 4000/-, Rs 5000/- per week, and expenses can exceed that if one is paying for house tax, society maintenance, medical ills education fees etc. How then can the government impose a ceiling on my withdrawal ? Does the government have the authority to decide what food I eat, what should be my mode of transport what medical treatment I can avail, and what courses I should study ? This is outrageous.
