Dr. Stephen Hahn, profile in cowardice in his misuse of hydroxychloroquine authorization, and his refusal to contradict Trump on Lethality of Covid
Dr. Han came to my notice, recently due to his refusal to contradict Trump's assertion that 99% of Covid 19 cases were "harmless". I.e. neither confirming or denying the lethal nature of this virus marks him, as an FDA administrator as not acting in the public interest.
See this, I.e. Meadows, Chief of Staff has continued in this grand tradition:
Quote
White House Chief of Staff Defends Trump Claim that 99% of Coronavirus Cases Are “Harmless”
Mark Meadows has defended Donald Trump’s false claim that 99% of Coronavirus cases are “harmless”. The White House chief of staff joined his boss in downplaying the virus.
The President caused serious dismay when he made the claim during an Independence Day speech over the weekend.
“There were no tests for a new virus, but now we have tested over 40 million people,” Trump said.

Now here is where Dr. Stephen Hahn comes in

FDA commissioner refuses to defend Trump claim that 99% of Covid-19 cases are 'harmless'

(CNN)The commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration on Sunday declined to defend President Donald Trump's unfounded claim that 99% of coronavirus cases are "totally harmless" and repeatedly refused to say whether Trump's remark is true or false.
"I'm not going to get into who is right and who is wrong," Dr. Stephen Hahn, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union."
During his remarks Saturday at the White House Independence Day event, Trump claimed without evidence that 99% of coronavirus cases "are totally harmless."
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 35% of cases are asymptomatic, but even people with mild or no symptoms can spread the virus to others.
While the World Health Organization has said the global fatality rate is likely less than 1%, the WHO also said about 20% of all people who are diagnosed with coronavirus are sick enough to need oxygen or hospital care.
"I totally support the CDC and the information that they're putting out with respect to this pandemic," Hahn said Sunday.
Hahn said the coronavirus pandemic is "a rapidly evolving situation" but stressed that the US "absolutely must take this seriously."
Pressed by Bash on the program whether the President's comment is true or false, Hahn again did not defend the President's claim.
"What I'll say is that we have data in the White House task force. Those data show us that this is a serious problem. People need to take it seriously," Hahn said.

I contacted Alexandra Chalupa, and asked her as if she had more background, and YES SHE DID. See the following:
Quote
Some background information about the FDA commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn, followed by Dr. Zelenko, the Russian agent giving instructions and cover to the White House to push hydroxychloroquine and who continues to promote it globally as he’s “even more emboldened” given his new fame and success in this deadly disinformation warfare operation for Putin’s nationalists.
1) Hahn, who has a track record of professional controversies that date back to at least 2009 when he was required to testify before Congress for allowing veterans be severely medically abused, had three major executive appointments during the first three years of the Trump presidency:
2017 - Started as MD Anderson’s Deputy President and Chief Operation Officer. February start date.
2018 - Promoted to MD Anderson’s Chief Medical Executive.
2019 - In November, Trump nominated him U.S. Commissioner for the Food and Drug Administration. He was confirmed by Senate vote in early December.
2) First few days as FDA Commissioner, he “shocked everyone” by making it illegal for 18-20 year olds to smoke. On the face of it, it’s good to get the population to stop smoking but given how this administration operates, seems like there could be a different motive, like finding more excuses to target young people via lawfare.
3) Trusted Go-To for Trump
- Nominated to head FDA in November 2019, when there were early warnings/briefings that a pandemic was looming.
- Pulled onto Pence’s Coronavirus task force officially on March 1, 2020.
- According to Wikipedia, “In April 2020, Hahn instructed Federal Emergency Management Administrator Peter Gaynor "to distribute hydroxychloroquine to pharmacies nationwide, even though [an Emergency Use Authorization issued by the FDA] did not provide for outpatient use of the drug," according to a whistleblower complaint filed by HHS infectious disease expert Rick Bright.[19] Hydroxychloroquine was later linked to multiple deaths of covid-19 patients.”
4) Hahns fast tracked the availability of hydroxychloroquine, making it available for outpatients, with Navarro pushing more than 31 million pills out after they had been stockpiled.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/16/us/politics/trump-hydroxychloroquine-coronavirus.html
When a nationwide test showed the drug was dangerous, as a study illustrated when it showed how it killed veterans, Hahns tried to gaslight the nation and downplayed the results:

5) Dr. Vladimir Zelenko,
Russian-American Zelenko wasn’t religious until later in life when he became a Hasidic Jew. How sick that the FDA Commissioner reached out and asked Zelenko to test out a dangerous drug on Jews. This is a Hitler or Stalin like tactic at its introductory stage, when the first step is normalization.
- Here’s a piece about his background written in 2019, before his reality show role in the pandemic crisis:
- This is the unusual story of how the FDA Commissioner himself reached out to, recruited, and coordinated with Zelenko for the spotlight role in the poisonings Trump tried to execute. Sounds like it was only because Mark Meadows and others in Trump’s inner circle had instructed him to, but the article fails to piece that publicly available info together:
“But Hahn’s previously unreported intervention on behalf of Zelenko—who was both promoting a COVID-19 treatment that the government’s top medical experts had warned against and seeking drugs that the FDA’s own rules restricted—calls his claims of independence into doubt. “I am pretty appreciative to Stephen Hahn,” Zelenko told Vanity Fair in an interview. “I think he helped in this process.”
- Here’s a piece about Zelenko as a sudden far-right darling:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/02/technology/doctor-zelenko-coronavirus-drugs.html
Zelenko was forced out of his community in New York where he had lived and practiced and was adored for decades. According to the Times of Israel, local Jewish leaders wrote an open letter against Zelenko and pushed him out. He had tried to poison them:
“In a video shared by the Orthodox news site Yeshiva World News, Zelenko announced he would leave Kiryas Joel, the town north of New York City where, until the coronavirus pandemic, he was known as a beloved community doctor.”
Here’s how Trump’s hydroxychloroquine emboldened nationalists globally during the pandemic, including in Brazil and India.
- Only July 1, 2020, Rudy Giuliani had Dr. Zelenko for the second time as his special guest on Rudy’s podcast. Giuliani introduces him as the guy who introduced the U.S. to hydroxychloroquine. They’re pushing everyone to take it if they’re worried about COVID-19 (in first 1 to 5 days when people may first think they have the virus)
6) Hahns has been well trained to be very politically savvy in the spotlight and has a history full of controversies, some of which required him to testify before Congress. They range over different institutions and years, and include being responsible for a doctor who committed serial malpractice on veterans to discrimination and illegal retaliation against Chinese researchers.

This hydroxychloroquine rise seems to have the same pattern as everything else, including the Ukraine collusion conspiracy:
- Originates in Russia
- U.S. Planter: Makes it’s way to the U.S. via a Russian agent charged with making it his primary focus and as an “expert” in the field.
- Trump’s inner circle receives the publicly given instructions and executes the strategy. Dr. Zelenko made YouTube videos to get the attention.
- Main Pawn in the Administration assigned to coordinate strategy and amplification of messaging using the U.S. planter/Russian agent running point. In this case, Hahn reached out to Zelenko. Support team in place to help, like Giuliani and Corsi, etc.
- Fox News and other far right disinformation warfare agents amplify along with Trump who leads the messaging. Base gets its rallying cry and pushes out disinformation and the public is focused on the debate that pundits fuel, while the public either gets distracted from other crimes the administration is committing and bigger danger and others poison themselves, all while fueling divide and chaos.
- Mission accomplished - At a time of crisis, maximum chaos is caused to make it more difficult to address the crisis effectively and even makes it much worse by steering the public in the wrong direction.

I.e. the fact is, that Dr. Stephen Hahn is enabling the WH to pull another Sharpiegate as when the WH against all meterologists in the NOAA and other places DEMANDED that the public be bombarded by officials giving cover to the false claim that a Hurricane hitting Florida indeed seriously menaced Alabama.
Dr. Hahn, who certainly knows better, is enabling massive information warfare assaults upon the American nation and not upholding his responsibility as a FDA Commissioner to inform the American people of crucial health information.
Hence, he deserves the monikor of Profiles in Cowardice.
