Dr. Richard Geist AND Dr. James Barbaria ARE UNETHICAL
Emails of an unethical Psychologist pulls you into a deeply personal and ethically complex narrative. The unabridged emails reveal the raw truth of a four-year affair between a married woman and her psychologist, a relationship fraught with blurred boundaries and unsettling power dynamics. What struck me most was the involvement of multiple psychologists, even in couples counseling, despite the ongoing unethical relationship. It’s not your average love affair; instead, it’s a powerful exploration of trust, manipulation, and the tragic consequences of ethical breaches. This book feels as raw and real as it gets, and I found myself reflecting on it long after I turned the last page. Dr. Richard Geist allowed me to lay on the floor with him, give him back massages, sit in his lap and stroke his pen*s and shared his sexual life with me. He also encouraged me to have sex with my other psychologist Dr. James Barbaria. Dr. Barbaria and I saw Dr. Richard Geist for "couples therapy" even though I was Dr. James Barbaria's MARRIED, BORDERLINE PATIENT!! They both GANGED UP ON ME and BRAIN-WASHED me NOT to report them to the licensing board!!! They BOTH told me that I was equally responsible for having sex with Dr. James Barbaria FOR TWO YEARS!!!!! I was physically assaulted and sexually manipulated BY BOTH DOCTORS!!! I am here to BREAK THE SILENCE AND EXPOSE THE TRUTH OF THE SEVERE TRAUMA THAT I AM STILL SUFFER TO THIS DAY!!!!
professional therapy never includes sexual contact between a therapist and a client. It also never includes inappropriate sexual suggestions, or any other kind of sexual behavior between a therapist and a client. Sexual contact of any kind between a therapist and a client is unethical and illegal. It is always the responsibility of the therapist to ensure that sexual contact with a client, whether consensual or not, does not occur.
Sexual behavior between a therapist and a client can harm the client. Harm may arise from the therapist’s exploitation of the client to fulfill his or her own needs or desires, and from the therapist’s loss of the objectivity necessary for effective therapy. All therapists are trained and educated to know that this kind of behavior is illegal and unethical.
Therapists are trusted and respected by their clients, and it is not uncommon for clients to admire and feel attracted to them. However, a therapist who accepts or encourages the expression of these feelings through sexual behavior with the client—or tells a client that sexual involvement is part of therapy—violates the therapeutic relationship, and engages in conduct that is illegal and unethical. This kind of abusive behavior can cause harmful, long-lasting, emotional, and psychological effects to the client.
