Dr. Rebecca Auer – One of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women

The Ottawa Hospital is a global research powerhouse. How fitting that our research leader, Dr. Rebecca Auer , is being recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) in the Professionals category.

Recently appointed the CEO and Scientific Director at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute as well as the Executive Vice-President, Research and Innovation at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH), Dr. Auer is being celebrated for her bold leadership, which has made transformative impacts in medicine and in our community.?

Reflecting on WXN’s theme, “Be Bold,” Dr. Auer said, “Being a bold leader means creating an environment in which everyone feels comfortable bringing bold and disruptive ideas forward. That’s the kind of environment I’ve always tried to create, whether it’s in the lab, the operating room or the board room. Now, I’m focused on implementing bold ideas to ensure that The Ottawa Hospital is a leader in integrating research into patient care.”

Dr. Auer’s approach is a beacon of what we aspire to achieve for The Ottawa Hospital: a place where groundbreaking research and innovative patient care go hand in hand, bringing hope for a healthier future. Her bold vision also aligns with our Campaign to Create Tomorrow — promising to not only advance research, treatment, and care at our hospital but also to impact lives across Canada and beyond.

Please take a moment to read the full press release and share Dr. Auer’s achievement on?X,?Facebook,?Instagram?or?LinkedIn. Let's celebrate this moment with pride as we continue to build a healthcare future that attracts, supports, and celebrates leaders like Dr. Auer.
