The induction of Professor Nicholas Peppas to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences will take place in Boston on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Among other engineers and scientists, we will celebrate the induction of good friend Yannis Kevrekidis of Johns Hopkins University, also an Academy of Athens (Ακαδημια Αθηνων) member. Other engineering and science inductees include Nadine Aubry, Dean of Engineering at Northeastern, Ann Lee, VP of Genentech, Pradeep K. Khosla, Chancellor of UCSD, colleague James Allison of the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Ed Boyden of MIT. Also Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times and Gregg Easterbrook of the Atlantic Monthly. Among the well known artists and performers inducted the same evening there will be the pianist Andre Watts, the popular singer John Legend, and the legendary Carol Burnett.
Peppas is already a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Medicine, the Académie nationale de France, the Real Academia Nacional de Espa?a, the Academy of Athens, the National Academy of Inventors, the International Academy of Medical and Biomedical Engineering, and the Texas Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Sciences.
