Dr Maloney urges all doctors in practice to speak up and take control of our Healthcare System.

Upon Dr Maloney’s advice to the Governor, Governor Cuomo has created Corona Virus Task Forces for New York State. It was at Dr Maloney’s suggestion and instructions to the Governor that Drive through testing was started in NY. Since early March, to both State and Federal Health Officials, who had banned using steroids, Dr Maloney has reported his success in treating Covid 19 respiratory illness’ with steroids at the onset of shortness of breath. Dr M continues to report his success with early use of steroids in these patients as being efficacious in preventing Covid 19 inflammatory pneumonias and subsequent hospitalizations. MONTHS LATER AFTER DR M REPORTED THIS, steroids were started on and continue to be given to hospitalized patients. He continues to report the value of using this cheap anti-inflammatory drug early on to fight this deadly virus which attacks by causing extreme inflammation, primarily to lung tissue.

COVID-19 update STEROIDS WERE GIVEN TO PRESIDENT TRUMP AS FIRST LINE TREARMENT TO FIGHT COVID 19 RESPIRATORY INVOLVEMENT (AGAINST FURTHER INFLAMMATORY DAMAGE IN COVID PNEUMONIA)

As stated all along, better safe than sorry, for those non-believers; those who think that this pandemic is a hoax, politically exaggerated etc.. 

Things to know:

1-this virus is real and can kill you. That’s a fact. 

2-we know very little about this virus. President Trump is being given plasma antibodies and drugs that are “EXPERIMENTAL”, Proof that we know very little still about this virus, seven months into this pandemic. 

3-Use your common sense and filter out what you hear on the news, remembering the amount of people that were dying every day, especially in New York. It was “only” after almost the entire world and our country shut down and so many people practiced social distancing, wearing of masks etc. that we’ve seen such a dramatic decrease in hospitalizations and deaths from the Covid 19 Corona Virus. 

Lastly, I believe it was stated, the president was first started on Dexamethasone, a steroid which is at least 6xs stronger than prednisone- when his oxygen level dropped, and his x-ray findings I’m sure showed evidence of pneumonia. 

I have been reporting my success in using prednisone early on, as soon as any respiratory symptoms develop: a cough which a doctor can decipher as coming from a lower part of the respiratory tract and Or shortness of breath amongst other symptoms. 

The use of dexamethasone is too potent a steroid for early use, as it has the possibility of completely shutting down the body‘s natural defense mechanism to fight disease. 

It’s about time that all of our expert renowned doctors and scientists conduct a trial of treating COVID-19 respiratory symptoms early on using a less potent steroid then dexamethasone. I have reported for the last “SEVEN MONTHS” my success in using prednisone, a much weaker steroid compared to dexamethasone, early on, to the CDC, Dr Fauci, our health commissioners, amongst others, without response. The above agencies did finally take my recommendations to use steroids (which they initially “banned” using), deciding to use steroids FOUR MONTHS” after I reported to them my success using steroids to prevent progression of disease in Covid 19 patients. I have repeatedly submitted empiric evidence to the CDC etc. that prednisone works to prevent progression of this illness if given early on. 

Against my recommendations. the CDC chose to use a much more potent steroid then that which I recommended. Furthermore, the CDC etc., after four months of my recommending the use of prednisone, chose instead to use much more potent steroids (dexamethasone) and only on severely ill patients who were placed on vents..

Perhaps now that President Trump was treated with steroids as an initial course of treatment, the CDC will take my recommendations more seriously, and will consider my recommendation to use a much less potent steroid, prednisone, as initial treatment of respiratory illnesses associated with COVID-19. 

Most importantly if you are experiencing symptoms that you believe may be related to COVID-19 see your doctor immediately, to get treated without delay. 

Although I go into my office to treat patients one day a week, a few who cannot be thoroughly treated using telemedicine, I continue to follow the emergency mandates which have lifted all restrictions regarding the use of telemedicine. This plan is in place, to encourage patients to avoid going to health care facilities whenever possible, even giving incentives by eliminating deductibles and co-pays, all designed to control spread of this vius, COVID-19.
