The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. There are nine Enneagram types, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your Enneagram type can help you understand yourself better, as well as how you can improve your leadership style. Here is a brief overview of the leadership style of each Enneagram type, along with their strengths and weaknesses
Enneagram Type 1: This type of leader is driven by high standards, ethics, and a desire to improve themselves and others. They are decisive, pragmatic, focused, and self-controlled. They can also be perfectionistic, critical, obsessive, and impatient. They may struggle with delegating tasks and accepting mistakes.
Enneagram Type 2: This type of leader is motivated by empathy, generosity, and a need to be appreciated. They are supportive, encouraging, helpful, and hard-working. They can also be overbearing, intrusive, manipulative, and dependent. They may have difficulty setting boundaries and prioritizing their own needs.
Enneagram Type 3: This type of leader is driven by success, recognition, and achievement. They are adaptable, efficient, confident, and goal-oriented. They can also be image-conscious, superficial, workaholic, and narcissistic. They may lose touch with their emotions and values in pursuit of external validation.
Enneagram Type 4: This type of leader is inspired by authenticity, originality, and self-expression. They are imaginative, passionate, sensitive, and visionary. They can also be moody, dramatic, self-absorbed, and envious. They may struggle with practicality, consistency, and self-esteem.
Enneagram Type 5: This type of leader is fueled by curiosity, knowledge, and competence. They are analytical, innovative, independent, and objective. They can also be detached, aloof, secretive, and stingy. They may have trouble with social skills, teamwork, and emotional expression.
Enneagram Type 6: This type of leader is guided by loyalty, security, and responsibility. They are reliable, trustworthy, collaborative, and problem-solving. They can also be anxious, doubtful, defensive, and paranoid. They may have difficulty with trust, change, and self-confidence.
Enneagram Type 7: This type of leader is energized by optimism, adventure, and possibility. They are enthusiastic, creative, versatile, and fun-loving. They can also be restless, scattered, impulsive, and escapist. They may have trouble with focus, commitment, and satisfaction.
Enneagram Type 8: This type of leader is powered by strength, control, and justice. They are assertive, decisive, confident, and protective. They can also be aggressive, domineering, confrontational, and vengeful. They may have trouble with vulnerability, compromise, and empathy.
