With Dr. Gargi Keeni- old memories

Over the weekend had a good time meeting Dr. Gargi Keeni , my first manager in TCS, after so many years…so many memories of TCS Kolkata with Gargi-di (as she is famously known!). ?Here are two from first few months with her – that helped me understand how deep was her belief to honor each commitment!

First one: We were on the way to one of our colleague’s ?marriage function in her car ; suddenly she remembered her commitment to send a Fax before SF wakes up.. yes car ?back to office, Fax and then back to marriage place ..she could have skipped the marriage invitation or had some excuse for delay in Fax. But no, promises are to be honored!

Second one: Was working for Japanese client. Those days we used to deliver ‘Software’ on Floppy via courier. But our Floppy, after reaching Japan, seemed untraceable. So Gargi-di took control.. she being extremely fluent in Japanese (till that day I heard about it, now time to experience), kept directly calling all the courier supply chains for the next two hours – till the Floppy was traced to the last local courier shop ..client commitment cannot be missed!
