What is your story as a person?
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, passionate about worship, His Word, and prayer. I am committed to seeing the Kingdom of God grow and thrive on this earth until Christ returns. I want to help and inspire others to develop a deeper and more intimate walk with Christ, to find their gifts and passions, and to serve God wholeheartedly. In pursuit of these goals, I have served in Christian education since 1986 as a teacher, school leader and founder, and multiple other roles.
What is the main story you want to share with the world through your book?
That we educators are called to reflectively consider how to love according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Teacher, Do You Love Me? and the accompanying study guide are intended to help individuals and groups discover and reflect upon what it means to love their students with the unconditional love of God.
If you had an opportunity to share just ONE message with the WHOLE WORLD, what would it be?
Loving God and loving others is not just a good idea--it's a command. Christians must devote themselves to the pursuit of obediently living out this Great Commandment ever more faithfully on behalf of the next generation so that children can know what it means to be loved unconditionally that they might be drawn into the love of God and His purposes for their lives.
What does family mean to you? Tell us about your family.
The family is one of the primary means by which God demonstrates to the world the truth of Christ and His bride, the church. Healthy families are a visual representation of the meaning of love, sacrifice, devotion, faithfulness, and so many of the characteristics and attributes of God. On a personal level, my family is a tremendous source of support, care, love, and joy. I have been married since 1983 and have two adult married children and five grandchildren and I consider them the most important human beings on the earth!
