AWHPI Global Foundation Appoints Dr. Brenda Morant to serve as the Director of Equity Development of the AFRICA 2-5-9 PROJECT INITIATIVE
Houston, TX June 30, 2023 - The AWHPI Global Foundation, a USA-based nonprofit organization with special consultative ECOSOC status from the United Nations, has announced the appointment pf Dr. Brenda Morant to serve as Director of Equity Development of the AFRICA 2-5-9 PROJECT INITIATIVE. Her role will be focused on one of the critical SDG Goal 5 within the UN SDGs2030 that the foundation is working on. She will use her decades of experience to cultivate a robust program lineup on equality and access for women in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Morant is a pioneer and trailblazer for the empowerment of women and girls. She is the Founder and President of the International Women's Think Tank (IWTT), a nonprofit organization that stimulates global awareness about concerns related to women and girls by promoting research, critical thinking, and innovative solutions to critical issues. The IWTT is based in the USA and is one of a very few think tanks that focus on women and girls’ issues, thus making it a pioneer and forerunner among think tanks. IWTT was honored by the Georgia State Senate with Senate Resolution 5 which commends the International Women’s Think Tank for its work to empower women and girls.
Dr. Morant is also a recipient of The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest national award issued by the President of the United States, to honor and recognize people who have made remarkable volunteer contributions to their communities, the nation, and the world. She is recognized as a thought leader, social entrepreneur, leadership capacity builder, consultant to SMEs to include female farmers on best practices for business development. She is passionate about her work to empower high school girls and stimulate awareness of world cultures.
Through collective action and working to reduce the gender gap, IWTT optimizes support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Equality and Technology. In alignment with this global mandate IWTT is building a Summit Community of thought leaders and influencers creating impact by advancing these goals. The annual Women’s Empowerment Roundtable Summit is in partnership with organizations missioned to achieve gender equality through their support of education, advocacy, data insight, economic empowerment, and cutting-edge technology.
As the Director of Equity Development of the AFRICA 2-5-9 PROJECT INITIATIVE, Dr. Morant will oversee the foundation's programs and activities that aim to promote gender equality and empowerment of women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa. She will also collaborate with other partners and stakeholders to advance the foundation's mission to bring health and healing to citizens in impoverished areas by providing quality health care services, education, advocacy, and research for African women and girls.
