DPVR Assistant 4 New Update
September 22nd, DPVR Assistant 4 Ver 4.1.9.21 is online. In the new version, the tracking algorithm and controller vibration are optimized. New features includes【Pengpeng Game Buddy】 and 【Controller Auto Mode】.
Upgraded Tracking Stability
In this latest update, the software team has improved algorithm threads to ensure that launching the game no longer consumes excessive computational resources. This optimization allows for a more efficient allocation of computational power to the positioning function's processing threads, reducing the impact of external factors on positioning. As a result, the overall stability of positioning tracking has been significantly enhanced.
Furthermore, in this update, E4 has reintroduced the dynamic mapping algorithm. This algorithm had previously been temporarily disabled in July due to its imperfections. However, after more than two months of dedicated work, the dynamic mapping algorithm has been refined and reactivated, addressing its initial shortcomings.
With this algorithm, even during gameplay, E4 can incorporate additional room features into the room mapping process, thereby enhancing room matching accuracy and improving overall positioning and tracking performance. Specifically, there will be a reduction in "poor tracking" notifications, and headset's ability to adapt to dark lighting environments will be enhanced.Tracking stability of the headset has seen significant improvements compared to its initial release. This is particularly noticeable in FPS VR games like "Pavlov".
Controller Vibration Optimization
By optimizing the haptic feedback and timing of controller vibrations, the vibration feedback in the game will become more stable and precise. The synchronization of vibration releases between the two controllers is also ensured.
In the previous update, 4.1.7.25, DPVR Assistant 4 introduced a "Controller Vibration Intensity Adjustment Tool," allowing players to customize the vibration intensity for both the left and right controllers.
Headset Status Monitoring
When running Steam VR games, Pengpeng Game Buddy will automatically launch, continuously monitoring the headset's status, game frames per second (FPS), and system resource usage in real-time. It provides tailored recommendations based on various conditions to assist users in optimizing their gaming experience. Users can also choose to disable it according to their preferences.

Controller Auto Mode
The "Auto Mode" seamlessly integrates button mappings for both joystick and touchpad modes while also supporting automatic recognition and switching for popular VR games. This feature enhances the user's gaming experience.
Taking "Pavlov" as an example, when a player selects "Auto Mode," the controllers will automatically switch to "Joystick Mode" to accommodate the specific control requirements of "Pavlov."
Simultaneously, in "Auto Mode," the SteamVR panel will display four controller icons. The controller icon with a "J" lit up signifies the activation of the joystick mode, while the one with a "T" lit up indicates the activation of the touchpad mode. This provides players with an intuitive understanding of the current controller mode in use.????
Hardware Setup Optimization
The "Hardware Setup" now includes two distinct options: "Directly connect to the graphics DP port" and "Connect via an adapter before connecting to? graphics" These options aim to facilitate quicker connectivity for laptop users. Additionally, USB and DP stability checks have been added to identify a wider range of issues and provide users with troubleshooting instructions, saving them time in preparing for their gaming sessions.
