DPIM Visits City University to Foster Young Entrepreneurs Aligned with Malaysia's National Entrepreneurship Vision

City University Malaysia (CityU) recently hosted a delegation from Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia (DPIM), led by its President, Dato' Mohammad Sahar Mat Din. The visit was aimed at discussing collaborative efforts to nurture young entrepreneurs among CityU graduates. This initiative aligns with Malaysia’s National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 (DKN 2030), which seeks to build a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem across the country.

Dato' Mohammad Sahar Mat Din, a key proponent of Islamic entrepreneurship and halal trade, emphasized the importance of educational institutions in developing future business leaders, particularly within Islamic business practices and Shariah-compliant industries. The discussions centred on how DPIM and CityU could work together to equip students with essential entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to succeed in these fields.

Representing CityU, Dato’ Fajura Juffa, Director of Industry Relations and Faculty Development, reiterated the institution’s commitment to empowering students with practical business skills. The collaboration with DPIM is seen as an important step toward contributing to the national objective of creating a generation of entrepreneurs who will drive Malaysia’s economic growth. The university aims to offer students access to mentorship, hands-on business training, and industry connections to better prepare them for the global market.

The partnership is expected to play a significant role in supporting the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030. By providing students with practical experience and guidance, the collaboration seeks to foster a new generation of entrepreneurs who can contribute to Malaysia’s development while upholding strong Islamic business values.

Dato' Mohammad Sahar Mat Din expressed confidence in CityU’s ability to support the government's entrepreneurial goals. He noted that the collaboration could help develop entrepreneurs who are not only skilled but also grounded in Islamic ethics, ensuring a balanced approach to business growth.

As Malaysia continues to pursue its entrepreneurial vision, CityU is positioned to make a meaningful contribution to this effort. The focus on halal industries, Islamic finance, and sustainable business practices will provide students with opportunities to succeed in the evolving global economy. Through this partnership with DPIM, CityU is prepared to play a key role in shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Malaysia.
