DPA Governors Meeting

The week began with our first Governors' meeting of 2025 at Derby Pride Academy a fantastic opportunity to reconvene as a team and re-engage with the challenges and opportunities facing the school in these ever-evolving times.

It was invaluable to come together, share insights, and explore how we can best support the academy, ensuring that every student continues to receive the highest quality education and pastoral care.

A key focus of our discussions was on careers education—an increasingly important area as we strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in the world beyond school. We explored ways to strengthen employer engagement, enhance work experience opportunities, and ensure that all pupils, regardless of their background, have access to meaningful guidance and pathways into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

I’m delighted to play my small part as Chair of Governors, working alongside such a committed team to help shape the future of our students.
