DP (China) Director Mr Wu Zhi Wei was invited by the Guangzhou City Planning Bureau as a panel speaker at The Conversations between Guangzhou and the World conference. Held on 9th July as part of the World Cities Summit 2018, the theme of the conference was consistent with the broader theme on “Liveable & Sustainable Cities: Embracing the Future through Innovation and Collaboration”.
Speaking on the topic of urban planning and governance, Zhi Wei shared his insights on city development of Guangzhou Knowledge City. Currently helmed by DP Architects’ team in China, the landmark project was jointly initiated by China and Singapore as a model for Guangdong’s economic transformation. Zhi Wei shared the panel with academics and experts Ms Zhang Yani (Guangzhou City Planning and Design Research Institute), Ms Zheng Yu (Guangzhou Lingnan Architecture Research Centre), Ms Cao Hui (Guangzhou Transport Planning Research Institute) and Ms Zhang Jue (International Finance Forum).
The Conversations between Guangzhou and the World also effectively shed light on China’s reform and opening up with other cities around the world.
