My latest gig takes me to the Northern Territory, Australia. To help one of our customers with their very impressive, 16 dozer, dozer push fleet. The fleet comprises of a mixture of D11's, from R-III through to the latest D11T's. Some Carry Dozers (and kitted with 5 tynes, thank you very much!) & some in standard trim (U Blades-3 tynes).
I conducted a Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) at site some weeks ago. From the LNA, I structured a training plan to en compose CAT "best practice" operating techniques for a dozer push. I front loaded the training with a theory component. Outlining what best practice looks like, the Economic Zone of Application for a dozer push system & integrated on board systems of Auto Blade Assist (ABA) & Auto Carry.
From there it was the "do", the "on iron" component out in the field ! Mentoring & offering real time feedback for the operators.
To witness a successful dozer push, is something to be hold ! The photo above illustrates that well. All most 7000hp was harnessed together to shift a volume of 205,000 (in-situ) BCM's, in just over 3 days !
I look forward to delivering the remainder of the program over the next couple of months.
