After speaking at numerous European conferences where English may not be the native tongue, I've found that clear concise dictionary is required. Slowing down your speed of talking is paramount. Maybe shortening your sentences. Also non-verbal communication, hand gestures, pointing at slides does make a difference to accentuate and highlight what you are talking about. Using tone, pitch and volume as well as constant eye contact helps get your message across.

Practice practice practice your speech. Research on the different professionals that would be attending and find a common factor. Know your audience and avoid any words that would not be inclusive. Start with storytelling. End with a question. Use clear words and confident tone. Project your voice and pause for effect. Get rid of any nerves prior to your speech by taking a brisk walk to limit adrenaline overload during your presentation. When I had to speak to a diverse group, I commanded authority by speaking clearly, slowly, with energy and I walked around the hall. I also asked questions and included the audience in activities to explain my topic.

Start strong with a clear message. Avoid filler words, speak in complete sentences, and use precise language. When you articulate your points directly, it gives the impression that you are confident and knowledgeable, making stakeholders more likely to pay attention. A calm, steady tone projects confidence and control. Avoid speaking too quickly, as this can come across as nervous or uncertain. Recognize the diversity in your audience by using inclusive language that resonates with everyone. Avoid overly technical jargon or industry-specific language that might alienate some listeners. Instead, choose words that bridge understanding across different backgrounds and experience levels, showing you value everyone's perspective.
