Hi there.

Can I share something?

I recently came across a Simon Broadbent quote about marketing, advertising, aeroplanes and engines at an event I attended.

Basically, he said that chaos starts when the engine (or marketing) suddenly stops running.

The plane (business) is airborne… but it’s gliding downward

That’s truly what can happen. I’ve seen it first-hand.

If you cut marketing, sure – you may still feel like you’re flying. But you’re only gliding, and gravity will grip you soon. And it’s super hard to start soaring again.

It’s the same in business, and here’s some HARD evidence.

So, my September tip is short and simple:

As we approach the final stretch of the year and the holiday season (when customers are generally more generous about their spending), you don’t want your competitors to overtake you.

I get it, it’s easier said than done. Especially since marketing has ups & downs.

The stats doesn't lie. A trimmed marketing budget might limit your ability to connect with your target audience effectively. You may find it harder to stay top-of-mind and compete with brands that maintain their marketing efforts.

Amen to that Christopher Melotti I’ve seen it too many times - when marketing screws are deployed by business owners and managers. Don’t stop the momentum you build! It will cost you more later! Be strategic, aware and curious!
