THE DOWNSIDE OF LYING IS THAT WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH OURSELVES KNOWING WE LIED AND VIOLATED OUR CHARACTER!

The passage, ‘A fortune made by a lying tongue is a…deadly snare’ (Proverbs 21:6 NIV), reminds us like the clergyman who, while trying to teach a group of young men about the dangers of lying, ended up telling the greatest lie of all when in attempt to impress them, launched into a sermon beginning with, ‘It is a sin to lie,’ and ended by saying, ‘When I was your age, I never told a lie’ that, we will always have to remember what we said and because our memories are not that good, we will be exposed one day. In other words, the downside of lying is that we have to live with ourselves knowing we lied and violated our character, which is a hard thing to do. So let the knowledge that: 1) When we decide to pray, the first things that come to our mind, our lies, are the last things we want to discuss with God; 2) Contrary to what we may think, forbidden fruits are not sweet, but sour; and 3) Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat of its fruit; teach you, if you do not want to live with the taste of that lie in your mouth, to always be honest!FG. www.femigee.com
