The Downfall of Web 3

The Downfall of Web 3

Web 3 was supposed to be the future of the internet – a decentralized, democratic system that would change the way we interacted with technology forever. But as time has gone on, it’s become increasingly clear that the promise of Web 3 was just that – a promise. In reality, the industry is full of talking heads, influencers, ponzi scheme leaders, and the same 20 whales with millions of dollars buying, pumping, and then selling to collectors who are left holding the bag.

The Illusion of Success

Many people were drawn to Web 3 by the illusion of success – the idea that they could get rich quick by investing in the next big thing. But the reality is that most people have lost money in Web 3, and the few who have made money have done so at the expense of others. The industry is full of scams, ponzi schemes, and pump-and-dump schemes, and it’s almost impossible for the average person to know what’s real and what’s not.

Toxic Environment

Web 3 has become a toxic, unhappy environment, with people constantly criticizing each other and tearing each other down. This kind of environment is unappealing to anyone looking in from the outside, and it’s not a sustainable way to build a successful industry. The constant negativity and infighting have made it difficult for talented, good people to work in the industry, and it’s clear that something needs to change.

The Titanic Analogy

The situation in Web 3 is reminiscent of the Titanic – people are too close to the issue to see it, and they are building on something that is doomed to fail. The talented, good people still building in the industry are like the workers on the Titanic, who couldn’t see through the fog and didn’t realize the danger they were in. It’s time for these people to zoom out and see that their skills and talents can be used in other industries, and that there is life outside of Web 3.

It’s Okay to Change Your Mind

Many people feel trapped in Web 3, either because they vouched for it in the past or because they’re too embarrassed to admit that what they were supporting was toxic. But it’s okay to change your mind, to admit that you were wrong, and to move on. Sticking around and being miserable just because you’re afraid of feeling shame or regret is not a healthy way to live.

In conclusion, Web 3 has become a toxic, unhappy industry that is full of scams and negativity. It’s time for people to realize that they don’t have to keep building in Web 3, and that their skills and talents can be used in other industries. It’s okay to change your mind, to admit that you were wrong, and to move on. Life is too short to be miserable, and there are better things to do than to keep building on a sinking ship.

Yeah for sure... the crypto-cliques have always been facsinating to me. I was around them a lot during our mini-crypto boom here in Vegas. The foundational blockchain technology is world changing. The billions of startups that suddenly appeared because of it, are not. ?? Hoping those super smart builders will find a home in a much better tech culture and build some awesome stuff.

Sounds like you are talking about examples of bad project and not actually the technology behind it, blockchain. Do you think blockchain technology is bad?
