The Edinburgh Seven Tapestry Unveiled at the V&A South Kensington
On International Women’s Day 2024, Dovecot Studios was delighted to unveil a magnificent innovative tapestry triptych at the V&A South Kensington!
Designed by Christine Borland and created by Dovecot using a combination of traditional and modern materials and techniques, the work commemorates the ‘Edinburgh Seven’, the first women to matriculate at any British university.
The Edinburgh Seven Tapestry will be on view in the V&A’s Medieval & Renaissance Galleries from 8 March – 27 May 2024, before going on long-term display at the new Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh this summer.

Pauline Caulfield Textiles

Last week we had the pleasure of opening our Viewing Balcony doors to a gorgeous collection of textiles from Pauline Caulfield.
Featuring over 20 large pieces ranging from fans, chasubles and fabric panels, this display illuminates Caulfield’s versatile yet distinctive work!

Enjoy a guided gallery tour of Andy Warhol: The Textiles with Dovecot Studios Director Celia Joicey.
This exhibition will take you on a journey through the unknown and unrecorded world of designs by the influential artist before his Silver Factory days. Showcasing over 35 of Warhol’s textile patterns from the period, depicting an array of colourful objects.
