Doubt your Doubt; Be YOU!??-- Embrace the chance of failure
Based on a poll I ran on LinkedIn asking: What do you think is the most effective way to eliminate Self-Doubt? The over whelming choice at 42% was Embrace the chance of failure
So, who said embrace failure? Billionaire?Charlie Munger?said Admitting Failure Is Key to Success. But why?
The reality, though, is that most success comes only after a string of failures. Dale Carnegie once said: Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.
Why is embracing failure important??We need to avoid staying in our self-limiting Comfort Zone…. When you try new things, you have a very high chance of failure. How many things have we avoided because we didn't want to look stupid or thought we would be bad at it? It is no secret that the only way to grow is by doing new things and to step out of your comfort zone even one of our most famous scientists, Albert Einstein, once said, "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new".
Here are some guiding principles here:
1.??????Recognize when fear is disguising itself as procrastination.
a.??????Procrastination is rooted in fear—of failure, of success, or of not being perfect—and fear is a powerful emotion. We feel anxiety when we're pushed to do things that make us uncomfortable, so naturally, we avoid them at all costs
b.??????Once you recognize that fear is getting in your way, you must locate the source of your anxiety and find a way to move forward in spite of it. You don’t negotiate with it; you find a way to accept the uncertainty that accompanies the feeling of failure. Fear disguises itself as procrastination or distraction. You think to yourself, “I’m not ready.

c.??????Establish Your “Why?” Once you know your why or burning desire, then the prospect of procrastination is not as desirable as pushing thru and getting it done.?Especially during periods of struggle or when the going gets tough, keeping your why front and center will provide you with the motivation you need to keep going when what you really may want is to give up.
2.??????Self-discovery (as outlined in Entrepreneur article by Saikiran Chandha November 15, 2021)
a.??????Focusing solely on your successes will not reveal too much about yourself. Analyzing them might help you list tactics and strategies that worked for you, but it will be hard to apportion how different factors contributed to the success.
b.??????On the other hand, confronting failure helps you identify precisely what or where it went wrong. You can narrow the cause down to a particular decision you took or a specific weakness of yours. This way, you will know what needs to be fixed and chart an appropriate action plan.
c.??????“Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.” —Richard Branson
“Like success, failure is many things to many people. With Positive Mental Attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order and prepare to try again.” - W. Clement Stone
“Why do I talk about the benefits of failure? Simply because failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.” - J.K. Rowling
Perspective is the most important factor in handling failure. People who are skilled at rebounding after failure are more likely to blame the failure on something that they did—the wrong course of action or a specific oversight—rather than something that they are. People who are bad at handling failure tend to blame failure on their laziness, lack of intelligence or some other personal quality, which implies that they had no control over the situation. That makes them more likely to avoid future risk-taking. (Travis Bradberry Contributor to Forbes)
Failure – embrace it, allow yourself to learn / grow from it.?Keep moving.
